About this design
Campagnolo Delta brake calipers, aka Deltas. 1984 -1993. I first clocked these callipers on a bike being ridden up an Alpe by Miguel Indurain . John Hiatt one of my favourite musicians has a line in his song Tennessee Plates "She saw him singing once when she was seventeen and ever since that day she`s been living in between". This pretty much describes the effect Deltas had on me.
I started cycling about 8 years after I had seen Big Mig and his Deltas and about 7 years since Campagnolo ceased producing them. No longer available but not forgotten. I have done a couple of L`Etapes, a PBP and quite a lot else with the pair you see drawn for this shirt. I bought them late '99. For the record they are a little heavy, quite difficult to set up, have excellent modulation and are the best looking brakes you can buy. I know I am not the only person who thinks so. The highest price I have witnessed for an early pair in perfect condition, but without levers, on ebay was $1700. You will regularly see `new old stock` ones sell for in excess of $500 on ebay. Benedict Radcliffe was the first person to buy our Campagnolo Deltas t-shirt. Go to his website you will see he understands art in industry and the subtleties of the correct length of top tube on a bicycle. Demonstrate you are discerning roadie, wear our Campagnolo Deltas t shirt.
