About this design
This is Perseus with the head of Medusa by Italian Renaissance artist, Cellini . I was always fascinated by this particular part of Greek Mythology. Perseus was to sent to kill Medusa who had hair of snakes and was so hideous that a single look from her would turn the victim to stone. Perseus had help from the Gods and Goddess` and successfully beheaded the monster. Pereus also rode on a Pegasus (a winged horse), that was born from Medusa blood. What a imagination the ancient Greek people had!!
