About this design

This t-shirt design admires the British sit-com 'The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin' by David Nobbs.
There were 21 episodes over three years (1976-1979).

The show was hilarious, but dark at the same time, as it focused on a man having a mid-life crisis or mental breakdown.

Ultimately he fakes his own death but is reunited with his wife when he attends his own funeral in disguise and can't resist wooing her all over again!

Reggie returned a year later bent on setting up a new business, "Grot", selling useless goods.  It was, of course, a massive success, leaving Reggie trapped back in the rat race.

There were many repeating scenes, themes or lines in the series such as Reginald always being late to work by exactly the same amount of time, yet he gives excuses to being late that get weirder and weirder as the shows progress. Another recurring catchphrase included Reggie’s boss CJ alawys saying: "I didn't get where I am today by..." such as "I didn't get where I am today by sleeping with sweaty, Caledonian chefs." or  "I didn't get where I am today by biting people in the changing room." This design uses my favourite one "I didn't get where I am today by selling ice cream tasting of bookends, pumice stone and West Germany." which came from an episode involving Ice cream that uses a computer to randomly pick what it thinks are popular flavours for customers, then it came up with the flavours "bookends, pumice stone and West Germany".
