About this design
The Hollywood Sign : It’s more than just nine white letters spelling out a city’s name; it’s one of the world’s most evocative symbols – a universal metaphor for ambition, success, glamour …for this dazzling place, industry and dream we call H-O-L-L-Y-W-O-O-D.
Did you know? The sign originally read "HOLLYWOODLAND", and its purpose was to advertise a new housing development in the hills above the Hollywood district of Los Angeles.
The fake sun I've use in the design represents the false and dark side of Hollywood, many people have gone to L.A in pursuit of the Hollywood dream and have come back empty handed. It's a harsh and very competitive town but hey, that's what makes it the movie capital of the world.
Like Marilyn Monroe once said. "Hollywood is a place where they'll pay you a thousand dollars for a kiss and fifty cents for your soul."
