The image is of a British Home female spider , which was found in the garage. It was very quite and photogenic while I was taking pictures. After the photo shoot I let it go back in the garage!

The house spider is probably the best known and perhaps the most hated of the British spiders, and is often encountered trapped in the bath or in the garage. It is fairly large and hairy, has long legs and varies in colour from pale to dark brown. The abdomen has variable sooty markings, and some individuals can be a uniform pale yellowish or grey colour.
