About this design
Paul Jackson Pollock was a highly troubled painter, who throughout his career tried to dismantle as many of paintings’ rules as possible. Whether it is his spattered, angry technique, or the manner in which he refused to name his paintings and instead numbered them, Pollock was always out on his own. Pollock is probably most famous for the series of ‘drip’ painting’s he produced in the late 40s. These vast canvas were coated is dripping layers of colour, usually created under the shadow of his rampant alcoholism. This series gave Pollock his great commercial success, and defined his career.
