About this design
This design admires Catain James Cook (1728-1779).
Cook is famous for being the Captain chosen for the historic voyage to properly map the East coast of Australia and claim it for the Empire.
He wasn't born into a wealthy family but made his fame through sheer hard work and natural talent.
Cook joined the Navy as a teenager and participated in the Seven Years War. During the war, Cook mapped the entrance to the Saint Lawrence River in great detail, allowing General Wolfe to make the famous stealth attack on the Plains of Abraham.
Cook's skills at map-making were noted by both the Admiralty and the Royal Society, and led to him being selected to lead the scientific voyage to Australia which was based on advanced cartography.
