About this design
Liberace was the epitome of the camp, glittery, razz-ma-tazz, over-the-top performer. He used to come on stage dressed in a truly horrific gown (usually coated in enough glitter to kill a horse) and perform to an ecstatic crowd. He was the ultimate star, and from the 50s to the70s, a period when Elvis and The Beatles were probably the biggest acts in the world, Liberace was the high paid entertainer in the world. But what is worth noting is, that behind all the crass showmanship and theatrics, he was also an exceptional pianist. Liberace can be admired for two very different reasons; firstly for his at times ridicules but entertaining qualities as a showman, or secondly for his huge natural ability as a technical musician. Regardless, the man was a legend, and every singe performer today owes a little bit of their success to the King of Glitter.
