About this design
Howard Phillips Lovecraft was born in Providence, in the US state of Rhode Island in 1890. He became one of the most influential horror writers of the 20th century. His particular brand of horror which he named "Cosmicism" (or "Cosmic Horror") revolved around the idea that there is undoubtedly life beyond our own world, and that it is unfathomably different to ours. His stories explore the possibility of our realm coming into contact with unknown beings and forces, and the emotional and psychological effects that this could cause.
He died and was buried in Providence in 1937 aged 46.
A man of known genius, but great eccentricity... Just imagine what was going through his head...
