About this design
Porsche 956 t shirt by Peter Hutton
These cars dominated Group C spotrs car racing in the 1980s. The performance was restricted by fuel regulations that limited power output to about 650bhp. Visually similar to the 917 the 956 benefited from an aluminium honeycomb monocoque chassis rather than the space frame of the 917 and most importantly ground effect aerodynamics. Their astonishing grip and handling is demonstrated by Derek Bell driving a 956 round the Nurburgring. More a guided tour than a lap, despite only taking 6mins 41 seconds. How fast is this? Otherwise the big figure is a 7 for the hottest available road cars driven by the fastest available drivers.
This drawing by Peter Hutton captures the detail of the engineering of this car. The shirt is printed front and back. The simulation on the website does not do the drawing justice, you will not be disappointed by the reproduction of this illustration on the shirt. The fabric is dyed and as with all our shirts completely colourfast.
Express your appreciation for the Porsche 965 and the art of Peter Hutton wear our Porsche 956 t shirt.
