About this design
After a Degree in Industrial Design from the University of Lisbon, Tiago da Fonseca completed a Design Products MA at the Royal College of Art London in 2008, all the while exhibiting his work throughout Europe and as far afield as South Korea.
Tiago's designs are witty with the uncanny capacity to provide insight into the human condition, be it a fruit juicer with a touch of kink, bedsheets to ease us into sound peaceful slumber and a considerately designed pillow on which to rest one's TV dinner.
With his £250 Million Topless Table, da Fonseca hints at the frustration and folly of seeing the once gloriously functional and striking landmark of London, Sir Giles Scott's Battersea Power Station, in need of a fundamental structural component.
It seems Tiago could not resist its allure once again for one of his designs commissioned by the London Design Festival!
