Carl Zeiss were first with a single lens reflex camera in 1949 with the introduction of the Contax. Through the use of a pentaprism mounted above the lens photographers had the pleasure of what you see is what you get for the first time.
The Nikon F was launched in 1959, ten years after Ziess had introduced the Contax. The Nikon F swept all before it, it was significantly cheaper than the range finder cameras of the day and every bit as robust. It became widely accepted as the camera of choice outside studios. Yukio Miyamoto’s images are essentially stills of a 3D CAD image he has constructed. They are reproduced on our shirts at 720 dpi in one axis and 1440 dpi in the other. Celebrate a great camera widely used by great photographers, wear our Nikon F t shirts by Yukio Miyamoto.
