The image on the shirt is taken from a fly poster for Hendrix’s tour of the UK to promote the single Purple Haze. This was the tour when on three occasions he set fire to his Fender Stratocaster with Ronson lighter fluid as a crescendo to playing his cover of the track Wild Thing. The guitar burning was said to be Chas Chandler, his manager’s idea. Damaged guitars being cheaper than buying column inches as a means of publicity. We dye the reproduced poster artwork into our shirts at 720dpi and 1440dpi in full CMYK colour.
