RCA microphone (from above) by Yukio Miyamoto

SKU: wa-691

The artwork:

A heavyweight and very robust studio/broadcast ribbon microphone with a flat response suitable for voice or music.  First introduced in the early 1930s.  The price was $129 – the BBC decided it couldn’t afford then.  RCA’s excellence in audio was largely driven by Dr Harry F Olsen.  Yukio’s 3D model, which we reproduce and dye into the ring spun CoolMax fabric of our shirts at 720dpi in one axis and 1440dpi in the other, is as exacting as RCA’s 1930’s standards.  Only the ribbons are delicate and they can be replaced, you will still find these microphones being used in studios to this day.
